Date:c. 1741 Author (in assoc. with a ms or print source)Mortimer Cromwell (c.1693-7 Jan 1752) Author (in assoc. with a ms or print source)John Woodward (1 May 1665 or 1668-25 Apr 1728) Documents in Manuscript: Catalogue B [of the Royal Society Repository](Catalogue)Annotation:The largest of the four manuscript catalogues of repository held at the Royal Society,
begun soon after publication of Musaeum [Regalis], with many later entries in various hands. The earliest dated acquisition is of 18 May 1661, while the latest which I noticed are from the 1730s. A modem pencilled note on the cover indicates 'ca.1741', but Simpson calls it 'an exhaustive list' by Cromwell Mortimer, secretary of the Society 1730-52, with a new classification 1753.
The leaves were sewn in thirteen pamphlets, but many are loose; numerous slips for individual entries, mostly initialled J.W. [John Woodward?] are lightly pasted in. Modern pencilled notes on the covers of the pamphlets collate them with Grew's chapters. (LeFanu, 110)
