The text of the manuscript is as follows:"John Hubbert did take the sayde stone owte of her blather which stone being here shewed & measured was confessed by the sayd Beatrice as the sayde Elizabeth Shening have and also by a sonne of the sayd Beatrice Shrove to be the very stone that the sayde Hubbert did take from her without incision or cuttinge any parte of her body (as is aforesaide) and soe that this artificiall acte may be the better known and credited with his experiens and knowledge in chirurgery by healing ..... The seventh day of May in the fouer & thirty yere of the reigne of our sayde souereygne ladye Elizabeth by the grace of God of England Fraunce and Irelande queene defender of the faythe &c, 1593."
