The John Bargrave Collection
John Cosin (30 Nov 1595 - 15 Jan 1672)
Consecrated bishop of Durham on 2 December 1660. An associate of Bargrave in Paris, whom Brennan identifies him as John Cosin (1594-1672) who "served as chaplain to the Anglican royalists at Paris from 1642 until the Restoration" (104, n. 34). He was Master of Peterhouse and became Vice-chancellor of Cambridge in 1639 and Dean of Peterborough in 1640. He was was deprived of his benefices by the Long Parliament. It appears Bargrave had his letters sent to Cosin when he was in Paris.
