Rowland Buckett (bap. 1571 - 1639)
Decorative painter and joiner and master of the Painter's Stainer's Company. He was employed by patron Robert Cecil and by James Hay, Earl of Carlisle, and was a benefactor of the Tradescant collection (MacGregor, 27). He decorated and accompanied the organ-clock Queen Elizabeth sent on behalf of the Levant Company to the Sultan at Constantinople. He also painted the case of a Jacobean organ at Hatfield and did other decorative work at both Salisbury House and Hatfield.
