Jeremiah Whitaker (1599 - 1654)

Puritan Church of England clergyman. He served in the Westminster Assembly from 1643–1649. The assembly “was commissioned by parliament in July 1643 to revise the doctrine, liturgy, and government of the English church” (Dixhoorn). A “character” (presumably a short biography rather than a short satirical sketch) of Whitaker was included in a manuscript collected by Thoresby (537).
