Description of institution: Bolton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Fangfoss, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 10 miles (16 km) to the east of the city of York and 3 miles (5 km) north-west of the town of Pocklington. In 1931 the parish had a population of 130.[1]

Bolton has an active local history society.[2]
