The catalogue was initially marked out with alpha headings and donations were entered according to the last name of the donor. It began with entries on the recto sides of the page, though some later entries were added on the verso. At some later date, the ms was reversed and used for record keeping in the 19th century.
The catalogue covers donations from 1660 to as late as 1710. According to Gunther, it was begun as early as 1675, at which time all donations from 1660 to that point were recorded. From that point, new donations were entered as they occurred.
Gunther claims it begins in the same hand as Rawlinson D. 912, fols. 201-2 and speculates it could be that of William, John, or Brooke Crabbe (most likely John Crabbe), continuing up to 1685 or 1690, after which time it continued by Thomas Hearne (259).
Gunther transcribes part of this manuscript interpolated in pages 260-74. Bibliographic Source(s):Early Science in Oxford. Vol. 3..., page: 259-60
