Martin Folkes, Esq. (29 Oct 1690 - 28 Jun 1754)
Antiquary, numismatist, and natural philosopher, he succeeded Sloane as president of the Royal Society when Sloane retired to Chelsea (Faulkner 1810, 252). He is listed as a "benefactor" in the later catalogues of Salter's museum.
