Captain Tublay ( - fl. c.1731)

Named as a "benefactor" in the catalogues of Salter's museum. In a letter dated 11 Aug. 1743, Montague Bacon writes to a "Captain Tublay At his House in Mannor Street In Great Chelsea Near London" (British Library, MS 4066 ff. 127-28, http://sloaneletters.com/?s=tublay). At some point, Bacon and Tassel were neighbours on Manor Street. Also spelled "Tubly." Relevant locations: Residence at Manor Street, Chelsea
