Frankland's Academy (8 March 1670 - )

A training academy for dissenting and nonconformist ministers founded by Richard Frankland at Rathmell on 8 March 1670. Frankland and his academy moved frequently, to Natland, near Kendal, from 1674 to 1683, then to to Calton Hall in Kirkby Malham, then to Dawson Fold, Crosthwaite (near Kendal), and then Hartborough (near Cartmel in the historic county of Lancashire). In 1686, Frankland and his academy finally moved to Attercliffe. Relevant locations: Past Location at Rathmell, Yorkshire
