Nicolas Marchant ( - 1678)
A contributor to the Jardin du Roi, Paris, and co-author with his son Jean of the Mémoires pour servir à l'histoire des plantes (1676) published under the auspices of the French Academy of Sciences. He also served as physician and gardener to the Duke of Orleans (Clos, 286). Hus calls Marchant director of the Jardin du Roi (493).
