Louis Ferdinand Elle, the Elder (1612 - 1689)

French portrait painter. Blunt identifies him as the painter of a portrait of Nicolaus Poussin dated 1640, which was the basis for a subsequent engraving with the inscription "V.E. pinxit. L.
