Francis Aston [Alias] ( - )

Alias for Francis Ashton

Aston entered Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1661 (B.A. in 1665) and was elected Fellow in 1667. Aston became a Fellow of the Society in 1678, and on 30 November 1681 he was elected one of the Secretaries of the Society, together with Robert Hooke: he was reappointed every year through 1685. Upon his death, Aston bequeathed to the Royal Society the whole of his estate at Mablethorpe. References in Documents:
