George Sibbald (fl. 1617 - 1630)

Jurist and physician (Steuart, 59). He received a doctorate degree in both Philosophy and Medicine at Padua on 9 June 1614 (ibid.). Sibbald was the first to attempt formation of a College of Physicians in Edinburgh ("Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh-Library," Handbuch der historischen Buchbestände in Deutschland, Österreich und Europa).
