William Molyneux (17 Apr 1656 - 11 Oct 1698)
Writer on science, politics and natural philosophy, he became a fellow of the Royal Society in 1685 and he founded the Dublin Philosophical Society on its precedent in October 1683, becoming its first Secretary. Author of Dioptrica Nova (1692), first work printed in English on the subject of the camera obscura.
