Annotation:Except for the preliminaries, this and the 1685 edition are the same.
A committee was struck in 1729 to inspect the Society’s Library and collections, which they did by comparing specimens to the available catalogues, including Grew's (196)
Grew's catalogue served as a reference and starting point and paradigm for subsequent catalogues(Simpson, 195-7)
Simpson suggests that Henry Hunt, who, along with Michael Weeks, was responsible for cataloguing the library, was "most likely ... closely involved in the preparation of Grew’s catalogue also" (190).
On the use of Grew's Musaeum Regalis in subsequent catalogues by the Royal Society, see Simpson, passim.
