Description of institution: Woodward's reference to "Trevanas" is probably to the Trevellas Mine rather than to the nearby Trevaunance Cove. Trevellas Mine is in the mining district of St. Agnes and also, as Woodward says, situated in a valley. The tin mines in this area date back to the sixteenth century.
