Merchant based in Livorno (known in 17th-century England as Leghorn), Italy from 1662 to 1698, before returning to London. Balle became a member of the Royal Society in 1708. In 1710 he purchased Campden House at Kensington, London, where he maintained a garden.Relevant locations:
