Leonard Plukenet (1642 - 1706)
English botanist, Royal Professor of Botany and gardener to Queen Mary. He and William Courten were fellow students at Westminster School (ODNB).In his Phytographia (1691), Plukenet describes both William Courten and Robert Uvedale as former fellow students, though Courten’s name cannot be found in the registers of Westminster School (Kusukawa, 2).
