Description of institution: A fountain in the Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy, designed in 1651 by Gian Lorenzo Bernini for Pope Innocent X. A copy of an Egyptian obelisk (the "Agonal Obelisk") rises from the base containing a basin and four fountains representing four major rivers of Africa (the Nile), Europe (the Danube), Asia (the Ganges), and the Americas (the Río de la Plata) the four continents of the Pope's dominion.
