Description of institution: Königsberg (until 1946 officially: Königsberg i. Pr.) was a city in the monastic state of the Teutonic Knights, the Duchy of Prussia, the Kingdom of Prussia and Germany until 1946. It was renamed Kaliningrad after its destruction in World War II. It is currently a seaport city and the administrative center of Kaliningrad Oblast, the Russian exclave between Poland and Lithuania on the Baltic Sea.
