Annotation:[Canterbury Catalog: Broken red clay disc. There are visible signs of marking on the face of the disc however very difficult to read. The following citation is from a hand-written label of Bargrave's, attributed to this object in his collection: ''This peice [sic.] was coined in Spaine, in great want of monie [sic.], for soe [sic.] much weight in gold; and will yet yield [sic.] soe [sic.] much in Spaine, and the [....] there, as I have beene[sic.] told. Yet I doubt it, because of the French on the other side: it may be but a counter".] (approx early - mid 17th cent)
