Annotation:[Canterbury Catalog: Bronze statuette of Leda, the mother of Castor and Clytemnestra, children of her husband Tyndareus as well as two offspring, Helen of Troy and Polydeuces. Zeus turned himself into a swan in order to seduce Leda. This Greek myth surged in popularity during the Italian Renaissance where the scene was increasingly eroticised. "Supposed to be modern but cast from ancient" wrote Bargrave.] Other Links: www.canterbury-cathedral.org/conservation/archives/ - Archives website www.canterbury-cathedral.org/bargrave/ - Bargrave collection website
