Annotation:[Canterbury Catalog: Pottery Lamp with unpierced handle, handmade with a central hole and wide projecting light hole. Dot pattern and leaf/chevron on base. Potter's fingerprint visible on handle. Found in the catacombs by Bargrave. "very ancient/A lamp and/Lacrymatorio of earth from Roma Sotteranea/an other Lachrimatorio of/glass fro the same place". Bargrave donated another lamp to Dr Robert Plot, later the first Keeper of the Ashmolean Museum.] (approx 15AD - 500AD)
