Annotation:[Canterbury Catalog: A collection of rocks, stones and fossilised shells and fragments. Including half a shell sliced through the centre to reveal layering within. "Devil's Toenail" and others. Also includes fragments found loose in drawers that may or may not be associated with the original group. Gryphaea, also known as Devil's toenails, are a genus of extinct oysters, marine bivalve mollusks in the family Gryphaeidae. Their fossil range extends from the Jurassic to the Cretaceous periods, being particularly common in many parts of Britain.] (undated)
