Portraits of the Pope and Sixty-Six Cardinals [ARK00091]

In Manuscript: CCA DCc Lit. Mss. E39a, Attached People: Collector (major) - Bargrave, John (1610-1680)
Location(s): Current location at - Canterbury Cathedral Library and Archives (Library and/or Archive) -> Canterbury Cathedral (Institution)
Annotation:[Canterbury Catalog: John Bargrave's copy of the publication (Rome, 1658) written by J. de Rossi contains heavily annotated notes made by him and includes his own index as well. This has been catalogued as part of the Literary Manuscript collection and can be found at CCA-LitMs/E/39/a. Considering own religious and personal sympathies, the annotations he has made in the book are not surprising. His experiences in Rome and travelling through Italy enabled him to meet many of the Cardinals, and allowed him to give valuable and vivid accounts of their personalities.] (1658)
