John Lane, Colonel (1609 - 31 Aug 1667)

Colonel John Lane lived at Bentley Hall, where he harboured Charles II. He had been an officer in the Royalist Army since 1642. His sister, Jane, attempted to aid Charles II in his escape. Lane was later a member of parliament.
