Posthumous Salwey ( - 1698)

Sea captain and relative of collector William Courten. According to Kusukawa, "Courten’s aunt had married Sir Edward Littleton, whose sister Anne had married Humphrey Salwey (1575-1652) of Moor Park. Their children included Humphrey the younger, whose only son was Posthumous, who helped settle Courten’s Montpellier bills (see BL, Sloane MS 3962, 303v-306r). He died in Barbados in 1698 as commander of the Crowne (45).
