Robert Midgley, Rev. (1682? - 25 May 1761)
Son of Joseph Midgley. He was admitted scholar at Trinity Hall in 1700, proceeding B.A. 1703/4 and M.A. (?)1733. He was ordained deacon at York in 1707 and priest in 1709. He was rector at Rand with Fulnetby, Lincolnshire and then curate at Husthwaite (CCEd 102707). He was Master the Coxwold Free School for 53 years and author of the Compendious Schoolmaster. He was buried at Husthwaite Church (MGLY700R). According to Thoresby, he was at one time minister of "Hulsingor," probably Hunsingore.
