Clerk of the Royal Society from the first meeting of its council, 13 May 1663, to at least 27 November 1683, with continued involvement with the Society until at least 1696 (Ray, 6). Ray identifies him as to donor of several petrified scallops to the Royal Society (ibid.). Surname also styled "Weekes."
