Hyacinth ( - )
A beautiful youth and lover of Apollo, he died from being struck by Apollo's discus which, in some versions of the story, was blown off course by Zephyrus, a rival for Hyacinth's love. A sanctuary grew up around his burial mound, which was located in the Classical period at the feet of Apollo's statue.
