Clipsby Crewe, Sir (1599 - Jun 1648)

English politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1624 to 1626. After visiting him at his home in Isleworth, John Evelyn commented on his 'fine Indian hangings' and reported that they had together seen some 'curious flowers' near by (Leith-Ross, 171). Crew was a friend of Robert Herrick and the subject of one of his odes.
