According to Leith-Ross, the "Mr. le Goulz" named as a benefactor in Musaeum Tradescantianum was Steven le Gouche, "a 'merchant stranger' from Antwerp who lived in Candlewick Street, London, and supplied expensive jewellery-mainly diamonds-to the court" (179).
