Christian Leveson, Lady ( - Feb 1627)

Daughter of Sir Walter Mildmay and the second wife of Sir John Leveson:
After her husband's death in 1615 she continued to live at Halling, acting as guardian to their unmarried children. Certainly Tradescant trod 'the footeway' to her house, as Parkinson records that this 'worthy, diligent and painefull observer and preserver both of plants and all other natures varieties' found the common green beet growing there" (Leith-Ross, 164-5).
. She is probably the "Lady Christian Leviston" named as a benefactor in Musaeum Tradescantianum.
