Richard Tompson (1620? - 1693)

Dealer and publisher of mezzotints. Robert Hooke visited his shop in Bedford Street, and in 1689 William Courten purchased prints at his shop at the Sun in Bedford-Bury, perhaps referring to the same location in Covent Garden (Griffiths, "Early Mezzotint," 132; Sloane MS 3961).
