Thomas Wentworth, 1st Baronet (c. 1615 - 5 Dec 1675)

Fought for the Royalists in the English Civil War and was captured at the Battle of Naseby. He was knighted for his services at the Restoration and in 1664 he became the 1st Baronet Wentworth of Bretton. In 1663 he was part of a commission tasked with investigating the Yorkshire Plot (also known as the Farnley Wood Plot) to overturn the monarchy.
