Relation d’un Voyage en Belgique en 1628

Secondary Title (i.e. Proceedings Title):Annales de l'Académie d'Archéologie de Belgique Periodical Title: Publication Type: Authors:Schayes, A. Editors: Publisher: Place of Publication: Publication Date:1854 Alternate Date (i.e. Conference Date): Volume:11 Issue: Start Page:345 End Page:381 Abstract: Descriptors/Keywords:… from a manuscript of our [Académie d’Archéologie de Belgique] library 4 vols. 4to.

Only the third volume has a title; it reads: Description of journey
Jean Fontaine and Louys Schonbub have taken together since 20 July 1629 to the 5 April 1633.

We see in the first volume that travelers began their pilgrimage from the year 1625. They traveled in succession most of France, Belgium, England, Holland and some parts of Germany neighboring the Rhine. The trip to Belgium was made in 1628 years. We reproduce verbatim, except the general descriptions, historical typography, the country and the provinces visited by
Travelers; we have removed what is a repetition of what we find about in other writers of the time.

As for the authors of the account, we have absolutely no information on their own people. The manuscript is a beautiful piece of writing; nothing prevents us believing that it is written by the hand of one of the travelers.
