Hearne, in his edition of Leland, prints, “A letter to the Publisher written by the ingenious Mr. John Bagford in which are many curious Remarks relating to the City of London and some things about Leland" (lviii-lxxxvi) dated 1 Feb 1715 from John Bagford to Thomas Hearne, in which he mentions William Courten (Charleton)'s opinion on some discovered ancient coins (p. lix).
