Annotation:Does not contain the poems in The Muse's Threnodie, but rather some of the appendices to Cant's 1774 edition.

The first 258 pages comprise newly composed material on Perth. Seemingly in place of Crant's section on "Gowrie's Conspiracy," it provides "The Traditional Account, in the Town of Perth, Concerning the Death of John, Earl of Gowrie, and his Brother, Mr. Alexander Ruthven, in the Year 1600, by the Late Rev. Alexander Duff of Tibbermuir" (pp. 231-258).

The rest is from Cant's 1774 publication (with some addition and supplement):
- The Charter of Confirmation of the Whole Rights and Privileges of the Burgh of Perth, Confirmed by King James VI, translated from the Principal Latin Charter into English...
- Decreet Obtained by the Burgh of Perth Against the Burgh of Dundee, concerning the Liberties and Privileges of the Water of Tay, and Priority of the Place
- Copy of the Charter Granted by Queen Mary to the Trades of the Burgh of Perth
- Copy of King James's Charter in Favour of the Craftsmen of Borrows
- List of the Ministers of Perth from the Reformation
- Account of the Rectors of the Grammar-School
- Account of the Academy [of Perth]
- List of the Subscribers for building the Bridge, in 1776 ...
It adds a list of "Subscriptions for Building the Seminaries," and omits Crant's "List of the Magistrates of Perth"
