Annotation:[Canterbury Catalog: Bronze, seated statuette of Romulus. The legendary twins, Romulus and Remus, fought each other for the right to rule in Rome. Romulus won the battle. After his supposed death in 717BC, he was "deified" into the Divine Persona of the Roman people "Quirinus"; and the temple devoted to him on Quirinal Hill is where Bargrave acquired this statuette. The temple ruins were removed soon after for the present building the Santa Maria della Vittoria. In Bargrave's words, "Very ancient"]
