Annotation:[Canterbury Catalog: Optical wooden eye. Formerly belonged to Westliius, of Neurenburg in High Germany: "As the sun removeth, so the wooden eye may be turned about to the sun, to keep the beams longer on the optick glass". Bargrave likens it to some sort of optical instrument used to prolong failing light, either for use in art or scientific research.] (missing) (approx early - mid 17th cent)
