Annotation:[Canterbury Catalog: Two Chinese books left to Bargrave by an unnamed friend: "They were left to me as a legacy and curiosity by one that had formerley binn my fellow traveller". Bargrave was unable to discern the writings included in the books: "every leaf being double, and having in every page an ill-favoured design or drauft of picture".
