William Wombwell (1670/1 - 1716)

Inherited the family estate at Wombwell from his cousin William. Baptised at Leeds on 9 January 1670/1, died 25 September 1716, and buried at Darfield. Married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Michael Wentworth of Woolley on 11 February 1696/7 (Dugdale, 2: 212).

Probably the William Wombwell who visited Thoresby's museum on 14 July 1704, designated "Esquire" in Thoresby's annotation.
