Thomas Micklethwaite ( - 1663)

Church of England minister with Yorkshire roots. He was the father of Sir John Micklethwaite M.D. (1612–1682) who was born near Beverley and who attended Charles II and was President of the Royal College of Physicians.

Micklethwaite served in the Westminster Assembly from 1643–1649. The assembly “was commissioned by parliament in July 1643 to revise the doctrine, liturgy, and government of the English church” (Van Dixhoorn). A “character” (presumably a short biography rather than a short satirical sketch) of Micklethwaite was included in a manuscript collected by Thoresby (537).
