William Vernon (1666/7 - c.1715?)
Botanist, traveler, and plant collector, travelling with David Kreig (c. 1670-1710) to Maryland in 1698 (Quattrocchi, 2788-9). Probably the "Mr. Vernon" named by Jezreel Jones in connection with a exploratory trip to the Canary Islands. James Petiver identifies him in 1699 as Fellow of Peterhouse in Cambridge (Centuria, 54).
