Henry Somerset, 1st Duke of Beaufort (1629 - 21 Jan 1700)

Welsh politician succeeding his father as 3rd Marquess of Worcester, styled Lord Herbert from 1644 until 3 April 1667, and bestowed the Dukedom of Beaufort by King Charles II in 1682. Courten identifies a jetton with the "Duke of Beaufort" in 1668: he must have misapplied the title, since the dukedom did not exist before 1682.
