James White ( - fl. c. 1717)

Ship surgeon for the East Indian Company, later, clergyman (Stearns, 272, 274). With the assistance of Sloane, he became surgeon to Charles Mordaunt, Lord Peterborough in 1702. He was later physician to Robert Sutton, second Baron Lexington (Stearns, 274). In 1715, White moved to
Jamaica, where he became rector of the Parish of Vere.
