Anne Carleton, Lady Tredway and Viscountess Dorchester (1585? - 1627)

Art connoisseur and dealer in fine objects. Lady Tredway, daughter of George Gerrard and Margaret Dacres, step-daughter of Henry Savile (Margaret's second husband), provost of Eton. Anne "went to Flushing in 1624 for a sale of Italian and Spanish goods taken from a prize, where she bought pictures on her husband's behalf, after he had received various commissions, including one from Buckingham. She also hoped to acquire beads of heliotrope, lapis lazuli, agate, crystals, hangings and tapestries" (Leith-Ross, 167). Collector (minor)
