A "prominent trading apothecary" and Master of the Society of Antiquaries,with Thomas Gardiner, from 1701-1704 (Simmons, 285, 290). He "waswealthy man with substantial property holdings in Hatton Garden" (ibid., 290). His son, also names Peter, was a physician. Relationships: Peter, the Elder Gelsthorp was a member of Worshipful Society of Apothecaries (1617-)
