Prussian Academy of Sciences (11 July 1700 - )

An educational academy established on 11 July 1700 by Prince-elector Frederick III of Brandenburg under the name of the Electoral Brandenburg Society of Sciences, renamed (by Frederick, now King in Prussia) the Royal Prussian Society of Sciences in 1701. This is probably the institution Petiver had in mind when he referenced the "Royal Brandenburg College of Sciences" in connection with Christian Maximilianus Spener.
